TPEx Receives Carbon Neutrality Certificate

TPEx has reached another milestone in sustainability! After rigorous assessment and review by the British Standards Institution (BSI), TPEx successfully passed the ISO 140681:2023 carbon neutrality verification on August 4, 2025, demonstrating its leadership and firm commitment to the net-zero transition and energy-saving carbon reduction.

To promote energy conservation and carbon reduction, TPEx has implemented ISO 14064-1:2018 greenhouse gas inventories since 2023. It has also developed tailored carbon reduction plans based on its operational characteristics and has been executing them progressively. In response to Taiwan’s 2050 net-zero transition goal, TPEx proactively adopted carbon neutrality standards at the beginning of 2024. It has set short-term and long-term carbon reduction pathways aligned with a 1.5°C global warming limit, based on science-based targets. Using 2023 as the baseline year, TPEx aims for a 32% reduction by 2032 and a 90% reduction by 2050, demonstrating a concrete commitment to sustainable development.

TPEx adheres to the principle of "energy conservation first, renewable energy second, and carbon offsetting as a supplement." It has implemented various energy-saving and carbon reduction measures, such as reducing fuel consumption of official vehicles, replacing equipment, and launching electricity-saving incentive campaigns. These efforts are complemented by the use of renewable energy. Residual emissions were offset through the purchase of high-quality carbon credits from the Carbon Exchange, covering activities such as reforestation, mangrove restoration, access to safe drinking water in African countries, and renewable energy development in South Asia. These efforts align with 13 of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

TPEx emphasizes that carbon neutrality is not the end but the foundation for becoming a truly "sustainable exchange." It will continue to strengthen efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, deepen climate risk control, and promote the low-carbon transformation of the capital market through innovative financial instruments. TPEx aims to guide listed companies towards sustainable development and inject strong momentum into addressing global climate challenges.
